IPL 2019 will kick off on Saturday, 23rd March 2019. Unlike previous years, the opening ceremony has been scrapped by IPL committee in wake to recent terror attacks. This does not make much difference to the IPL fans especially the fans at Chennai, the venue of the tournament opener. After a couple of unsuccessful years, the CSK is set to play all the home games at Chennai, which itself a great ceremony bigger than the traditional opening ceremony for the local fans.
On the day one of IPL 2019, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai). The local IPL fans are excited to see their favourite team and the star players after a long time, for the general audience, they are to taste the high-level competition between the two top captains – MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
In the IPL season, Totally 22 matches played between these two teams. Out of 22 matches Chennai Super Kings team have won 15 matches and 7 matches won by Royal Challengers Bangalore team. Particularly CSK beaten RCB in both the matches on last season.
Given the recent form of Dhoni and considering the support of local fans in Chennai, CSK has an edge over RCB. Unless, a RCB deliver a standout performance, it is going to CSK all the way in the lion’s den.
